Reading Assignment

Asa! So today I will not be able to make it to class. I want you all to read the following article below and discuss whether or not you agree with the comments being made. Also discuss your opinion on the topic. Why do you feel many middle school children find a disinterest in math? Do you have a disinterest in math? Why or why not?

  1. I think they lose interest in math because all of the different concepts and they think that it take a whole bunch of brainpower and they don't want to use it so they simply give up to stop the intense pain, and I use to have disinterest in math because I thought it was to hard now I think that if you put your mind to it and solve the problem piece by piece you can do anything now it can be hard but once work it out,you can master it

  2. I believe they lose interest in because when they don't understand they have no one to lean on for help. Their parents aren't aiding their children with their work when they really need it. I don't have a disinterest in math because I just love the subject. It is the foundation to life and without math we couldn't build the country. That's why I have a very strong desire to do the subject.

  3. I think middle school and high school students lose interest in math because they usually don't understand. Another reason could be because math is commonly said to be hard and boring and when they start that level of math they go into it with that mind set. I do like math but it can be challenging at times and then I start saying I start saying I don't like it but that's only because I come across something difficult. I honestly don't know why I like math, I just do.

  4. I think the reason children become uninterested in math is because of boredom and misunderstanding. I think many middle school children find a dis interest in math because they dont know enough about it to want to learn more. I have always had some degre off disinterest im math because it is always somthing that i struggle with.

  5. I think middle and high school students have lost their interest in math is because of a lack of understanding and the way it is presented to them. I strongly feel that if students had something they could relate too and something that captures their attention in math it would be the most loved subject there is. On a personnel level I've had some disinterest in math because its a subject I always have struggled with in trying to master in it.

  6. I believe that people are intimidated by math, due to the numerous amounts of problems and procedures needed to solve it. Children want the easy way out and math is too precise to do such.
